Upcoming Maintenance: Week of 8/13

Hey folks,

 

Some bad news to report, the maintenance will not be happening tomorrow. We thought we were very close to having patch ready to go but when we were in the final testing stage it was determined there was an issue that would cause a large number of players to be kicked to character select regularly. Obviously, that put the brakes on 5.9.2a for tomorrow.

 

The team has already begun working on getting this addressed and to get a new patch ready. The new estimated timing for maintenance will be Tuesday, 8/21.

yes, I tried all that, nothing was possible. Selling trash, crew skill... she kept laying on the floor. I finally went into the fight and have them kill me, back to the med center, and there she was also. Next time she survived walking through the door (next time, give us a less clumsy companion, please^^)

This happened to me, I was on my sage and thought putting the shield on her caused her to die. Couldn't revive her because apparently she was too far away. Had to fight on my own and to my surprise I managed it.

We've since had new developments, but this is why it's a "longshot"...

 

Yeah... apparently it's a feature that gets hard coded into a patch with a timer on it each time. :rolleyes:

 

One would think that for repeatable events like this.. they would have built a little event console window for devs that they can simply flip switches on/off to turn events on and off.. and while the servers are live too. Of course.. then we would have issues with them "forgetting" to flip switches. :p

Just to clarify: the time remaining for 2XP, in-game says it'll be done in a little over 2 days time [54 hours and change]. Is that when it will actually end? Because I've seen it end before the stated time. On swtorcalendar it has it ending on the 19th, which is about right.

SWTOR developer working on Anthem: "Hey Musco, run over to the SWTOR forums and tell those people we're working on a patch this week. Keep stalling and pushing it out 3 days at a time!"

 

 

I kid, i kid.... sheesh.

Eric, is this patch going to fix the match making? Because it’s clearly broken and even worse than when it was RNG queueing.

So the folks who are still stuck on Chapter 13 in KotFE will have to wait 5 more days for a Tuesday patch to fix it? Urgh, but I guess if it has to be...

 

it is possible to get through it if you have aoe and hit the spawning droids before they turn red. the fight does not reset then. It's a pain, but with a BH was able to manage easily enough. If your don't have a lot of aoe....yeah....probably stuck.

I was able to get past wave 1 with a Sorc AoE, but after killing 1 of the 3 droids that spawned for wave 2, it reset again. Wasn't able to get past wave 2 at all, even with jumping and AoE. So I'm either stuck til Tuesday or maybe I'll get CS to jump me past that point.

Is this time table still on track for Tuesday?

 

If so, will you be tweaking the match making system and also addressing the bugs and dysnc that have increased more since 5.9.2

It's tentatively set for Wednesday morning, the dev team wanted to use an extra day to confirm everything's working fine.

Hey folks,

 

The Stronghold area resets we did this morning will hopefully mitigate some of the lag issues you have been seeing. However, we will need a patch to permanently address the issue, turn collision back on for decos, and fix a host of other issues.

 

The team is hard at work to get everything fixed so that we can push out a patch as soon as possible. Even with the team pounding away on it through the weekend, it is expected we won't be able to push it out until early/mid next week. I will update you as soon as I know more on maintenance timing, expect a post Monday (unless things move much faster than expected).

 

Here are the current patch notes for the patch (these are not final and subject to change):

  • Closed a gap which allowed players to get underneath the Overlook platform in the Rishi Stronghold.
  • The Cartel Market image for the Visas Marr armor set is no longer showing the Marka Ragnos belt.
  • Despite the best efforts of the yellow team, the Novare Coast scoreboard now properly tracks the score for both teams.
  • Wins and losses are now properly tracked after all Ranked Matches (this was fixed on August 7th).
  • Dretcher’s Droids in Chapter XIII: Profit and Plunder will no longer reset.
  • Corrected an issue where the Veteran Mode Gods From the Machine bosses were harder than intended.
  • Players will no longer experience intermittent slowdown while in a Stronghold. (this fix also adds collision and LoS detection back for decorations)
  • Using various quick travel abilities will no longer randomly kill players.
  • Various character unlocks have been added back into the Cartel Market and will now display their appropriate price instead of "True."

Im glad you guys fix the quick travel bug, but what about the roll bug in operatives that make us root to the map when you roll?
