Question About Decoration Sizes

Greetings!

I'm fairly new to SW:TOR and totally addicted to decorating strongholds. I have a question for those of you who have been doing it longer.

I've been trying to get ideas on how to use decorations by looking through screenshots players have posted. It didn't take me long to notice that some of the decorations seem to have been larger at some point. For example, I have Ornate Merchant's Rugs that are tiny and barely fit underneath a small cafe table, but there are many screenshots online of these rugs being at least three times larger (these are not the decorous hotel rugs). I don't see any listings on various decoration web sites for two differently sized rugs with the same pattern. I have also seen several wall decos that appear to have shrunk before I bought them.

Can anyone shed light on this? Did items shrink at some point? Are the stronghold decoration sites incomplete? Is there some way I haven't found to scale the size of decoration objects?

Thanks!

The Ornate Merchant Rug was always this small. http://tor-decorating.com/ornate-merchants-rug/

This model is used in various sizes all across the game, including this small one.

Generally when a decoration is released they won't touch it ever again. There are only a handful of exceptions where BW actually listened to massive requests for a change. (Notably the Selkath Console being fixed, the Bounty Holding cell being on by default and the Kingpin's Slot machine being nerfed into oblivion.)

That's true, I have seen it in various sizes around the game. I'm asking because I have seen it in personal strongholds in a larger size and I'm wondering where it came from.

The Ornate Merchant's Rug design does not exist in a larger size as a stronghold decoration. Are you sure it wasn't the Desert Peddler's Rug? Or maybe you're misremembering the location or size?

Yes, I'm sure. There are so few rugs, it's easy to remember them. The one I'm referring to seems to be the only square rug and it also has a distinctive pattern.

Here's one image with the MUCH bigger rug, located in the downstairs Main Room of a Nar Shaddaa stronghold:

You'll also notice that there's a half version of the Arrangement: Basic Lounge.

My own rug is probably 2' x 2' in size, not much bigger than the top of a cafe table.

Thats a promo image put together in the developer's level editor, not an actual stronghold screenshot.

Most of the decorations don't exist:

  • the much bigger rug
  • the cafe table with a bottle
  • the holo-generator with the musician
  • the large bar
  • the barkeep leaning on the bar (or wiping it?).
  • the woman at the bar

Believe me, since my main stronghold is a casino/club, I would have all of those decorations if they existed.
