The Hunger Games: STAR WARS Edition – The Spectator’s Lounge

Welcome to the spectator’s lounge, the purpose of this thread is to serve as a central hub for spectators, where they can discuss the games, debate the actions and decisions of tributes, and sponsor their favorites. Below is some key information on how the debate functions, the phases of the games, and how the sponsor system works.

Debate: How the Games Operate

The games operate under a system of rounds, within each round each tribute will take a turn, in which you the spectators will decide what action they will take. Me as the Head Gamemaker will then throw an encounter at them, and it will again be down to you to decide how they deal with the situation, and whether they survive.

The phases of each turn will therefore be as follows:

Situation Update: Before the discussion gets underway, an update on the tributes situations and options will be posted by myself, to provide some context for debate. And if sponsored they will recieve their gift at this stage.

Decision Phase: Based on the situation update, the spectators will debate and discuss what action the tribute is most likely to take, be it to find food or water, hunt down another tribute, tend to a wound, scout the surroundings etc. Once the discussion has run its course, the Head Gamemaker will close the debate by announcing that a verdict has been made, which will not be made public at this stage, this will begin the next phase.

Encounter Phase: The Head Gamemaker will place various possible encounters in a hat, and draw at random. These possibilities will be tailored to the part of the arena the tribute is in, and which other tributes are in that arena. Possibilities that are more likely to occur will have several duplicate names in the hat to increase the odds.

Whatever is drawn will be combined with the verdict of the decision phase to create a scenario, posted in the Arena thread. For example the tribute might find water but also a wild animal, or another tribute, leading to the next phase.

Survival Phase: With the tribute in a new and possibly deadly situation it will be again put to the spectators to debate how the tribute deals with this new threat and whether they achieve their goal. Will they survive or die? And if they survive, what advantages or detriments will they incur? A new ally? Or perhaps a grievous injury?

2nd Encounter Phase: This phase can occur during the Survival Phase if it is determined that an outside variable e.g. the intervention of an ally, might effect the outcome. The likelihood of this intervention being debated to increase or decrease the odds of such an encounter. If the encounter occurs, the scenario will be updated accordingly.

Once again after the discussion has run its course, the Head Gamemaker will close the debate, then the verdict and scenario will be posted in the Arena thread. The tribute’s profile updated with the results, or removed from play.

Sponsor Phase: This phase will occur during the interlude between each round, and any gifts procured will feature in the tribute’s next turn, for more information on how the sponsorship system works, see below.

Sponsorship: How to Sponsor a Tribute

The sponsor system is simple, at the end of each round i.e. when every tribute has taken their turn, spectators will have the opportunity to sponsor a tribute and procure a gift. Be it weapons, food, medicine supplies etc.

Different gifts have different values, and the higher the value, the more spectators backing will be needed to procure it for your chosen Tribute. However as the games progress and the number of tributes remaining diminishes, the amount of spectators required to procure any one gift will increase, and will be updated here.

Low-value gifts encompass basic food, water, tools and medicine, and can be supplied only in small quantities, this includes medicine tailored to specific ailments. Gifts of this value require the backing of one spectator.

Mid-value gifts encompass advanced tools/equipment and basic weapons/armour. Medicine designed to cure more serious ailments and diseases are also included. Gifts of this value require the backing of two spectators.

High-value gifts encompass advanced weapons and armour, and any weapons, armour, tools or equipment personal to that tribute, such as Boba Fett’s helmet. Gifts of this value require the back of three spectators.

NOTE: Individual spectators are only able to make one sponsorship every other round, so lend your support wisely.

There are some types of items that are not permitted, including any items that cannot be fit in a small container, bioweapons, Force-empowering devices, and any specialised survival equipment such as ration packs & medpacs.

If you wish to sponsor a tribute, post below your chosen tribute and/or proposed gift, and then start getting some backers. Any and all gifts must be approved by the Head Gamemaker, who will also determine its value.

Beni, you kinda undersold Kanos.

He's a master of every weapon/martial art in the galaxy as per his training both ranged and melee, expert survivalist, and Force Sensitivity(Resist Force Attacks/Sense), trained assassin.

Maul too is also an expert in survival.

Every weapon/martial art in the galaxy, is there a statement for that? And I thought he was non-Force sensitive.

Every weapon/martial art in the galaxy, is there a statement for that? And I thought he was non-Force sensitive.

The Royal Guard were the ultimate product of all the training, mental conditioning and skill that the Empire could instill in a man. They mastered every conceivable weapon and every known means of hand to hand combat, none the least of which was the terrifyingly fast martial art of Echani.

- Taken from Fact File 33

First bit.

The Royal Guard typically wield force pikes, which they combine with hand to hand attacks during combat. They are also somewhat resistant to the Force. Allowing them to withstand Force attacks that would easily dispatch Stormtroopers.

- Taken from TFU Databank

2nd bit.

But if you won't take TFU Databank, there's also this quote.

Those members of the Imperial Stormtroopers who showed particular expertise were recruited into the Emperor's Royal Guard. But each was also tested for Force potential and those who displayed an aptitude for wielding the Force were singled out for special training on the isolated world of Yinchorr.

- Taken from Darkside Sourcebook

Oh also this too.

aww, young Ahsoka? that makes it so much less interesting...
Oh that reminds me, I've updated the bios with info on incarnation specifics, just look for the asterixes, where there isn't one assume their prime.

But yeah unforunately we don't have quite enough info on Rebels Ahsoka, and she's probably too powerful.

We know she can jump crazy distances, which is where the "interesting" part comes in. Jumping to the cornucopia, grabbing weapons of choice, and jumping out before anyone else even gets close :)

As a simple spectator, in terms of interesting story and Characters there are a few I like, but with the info here Ventress is standing out. I like Ezra and Ahsoka here, but I dont really think CHILDREN have a real shot at winning.

I like the Dark Sider that struggles with more light hearted feelings and she has the skills to match up to people so, thus far as the story goes I am backing Ventress.

>Rebels Ashoka too powerful

>Prime Kenobi and Maul is in the game

Wow Beni. Contain your wanking.

TPM Maul, the guy who couldn't keep the high ground advantage. So he's fair game.

PS: And it's not Kenobi it's Kenobil , Obi-wan's secret clone. :p

As a whole I think that most of them could win if they are able to make events swing in their favor. The only people that I think do not have a good chance are Bridger, Bao-dur, and Djannis.

Others who I believe may be outclassed or have debilitating weaknesses are Ordo, Rand, and HK-47.
